Delete your data.

1. The short answer

Three categories, and the third is the one worth understanding.

• Your account and verification — deletable. The phone number you verified with, and the account it created. Ask and it goes.
• Your private archive — deletable. The list of rounds you have played, which is visible only to you. It goes with the account.
• Your answers inside aggregates — not deletable. Already absorbed into anonymous counts, with nothing identifying them as yours. There is no entry to point at.

2. How to request it

In-app deletion path: Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete Account → Confirm Deletion.

By email: Write to hello@democrez.com with subject “DELETE MY DATA” from the context of your account, or tell us the number you verified with so that we can identify the account to remove. That is the only identifier we hold, so it is the only one that can be used.

3. What happens then

• The account and its verification are removed, subject to the retention period below.
• Your private archive of past rounds is removed with it.
• Any pending pair or circle reading you were part of will not resolve for the others, because a reading opens only when everybody has answered.
• Aggregates are unchanged, because nothing in them was ever attributed to you.

If you verify again later, you begin as a new participant. There is no way to reconnect you to anything from before, for you or for us.

4. Why answers cannot be withdrawn

Most platforms could delete your responses on request, and the reason is that they know which ones are yours. That knowledge is exactly what makes the request necessary in the first place.

Democrez separates verification from response at the point of collection. What is stored is that a distinct verified person chose an option and locked a prediction — not who that person was. The link is not hidden, encrypted or access-controlled; it is not created.

So a deletion request for your answers cannot be honoured, and the same fact means:

• We cannot tell you what you answered, either
• We cannot tell anybody else — an institution, an employer, a court
• A breach of our systems would not expose it, because it is not in them

5. How long anything is kept

User-facing account data: deleted within 30 days of verified request. Backups: removed within 90 days. Security / legal / processing logs: retained for at least 1 year where applicable, then erased unless law requires longer.

Answers inside aggregates are permanent by design and are covered by section 4 rather than by any retention period.

6. If you took part in an institution session

The same applies, with one addition: your institution never received anything about you individually, so there is nothing to delete on their side either. No list of participants, no per-student output, and no record of who declined was ever produced.

7. Your other rights

Under Indian data protection law you may also ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and nominate somebody to exercise these rights on your behalf. In practice the answer to the first is short, because the verification is the only thing associated with you.
