Reaching us

Contact.

There is no form on this page. Different kinds of message go to different places, and a single box funnelling them all into one inbox would slow down the ones that matter most. Pick the route below that fits.

Six routes

Write to the right one.

Five of these are addresses; the sixth needs no message at all. Two carry obligations — a security report and a grievance both start a clock, and sending either to a general address is the fastest way to lose it.

A question about the app

Something is not working, an answer did not register, or you cannot tell what a screen is asking. Include your device and roughly when it happened; we cannot look you up by name, because we do not hold one.

A college or organisation

You want to run a Human Judgment Lab with a batch, or you have questions about what the institution report contains and what it deliberately leaves out.

Write to hello@democrez.com (subject “INSTITUTION”) · read this first

Press and research

Interviews, methodology questions, or a request to cite published readings. Note that we will not supply a figure that has not been sealed, however useful it would be to a deadline.

Write to hello@democrez.com (subject “PRESS”) · press page

A security problem

You have found a vulnerability, or something that exposes data that should not be exposed. Please report it before publishing it, and give us a way to reply.

Write to hello@democrez.com (subject “SECURITY REPORT”) · disclosure policy

A grievance

A complaint about how your data has been handled, or about anything on the platform that you believe breaches our stated obligations. This route is a legal requirement in India, and it goes to a named person rather than a shared inbox.

Deleting your data

You do not need to write to us for this. Deletion is handled in the app, and the page below explains exactly what can be removed and what cannot — answers already inside an anonymous aggregate are no longer linked to you.

A deliberate absence

Why there is no contact form.

A form on this page would be easy to add and would look more finished. It would also collect things this site has spent every other page promising not to collect.

Every message here is a person, not a ticket. The routes above go to people who can actually act on them, rather than into a queue that sorts itself.

A form stores what you type

It would need a database, and that database would sit on the same website that says it holds no user data. Two claims, one of them false.

Email leaves the record with you

You keep a copy of what you sent and when. With a form, only we do — and for a grievance or a security report, that asymmetry matters.

One inbox flattens urgency

A vulnerability report and a question about a button do not deserve the same queue. Separate addresses keep the difference visible.

Nothing here needs an account

The website has no sign-in and no session. Adding a form would be the first thing on it that quietly needed one.

After you write

What happens, and what we cannot do.

What we can do

  • Answer a question about how the platform works. Anything explained on this site, and anything not explained well enough.
  • Fix an account or verification problem. Identified by the phone number you verified with, since that is the only handle that exists.
  • Take a security report seriously. Acknowledged first, investigated second, and credited if you want that.
  • Set up an institution session. Including the parts you should push back on before agreeing to.

What we cannot do

  • Tell you how you answered a card. There is no record connecting a choice back to a person, so there is nothing to look up — for you or for us.
  • Tell you how somebody else answered. Not a partner, not a family member, not a student in a session you paid for.
  • Release an unsealed figure. Not for a story, not for a paper, and not for a pitch. If it has not passed Min-N and human review, it does not leave.
  • Remove a card because you disagree with the result. The record is append-only; a reading that became inconvenient is still a reading.

How long we take

Democrez is a small team, and we would rather tell you that than publish a response time we cannot hold. Grievances follow the timeline set out in the grievance page, which is a legal obligation rather than a preference. Everything else gets answered in the order it arrives.

On the record

Who you are writing to.

Indian law requires an operator to publish these, and a site that asks people to trust its numbers should publish them without being required to.

Questions

Straight answers.

Why is there no contact form?

Because a form would store what you type, which means a database on a website that otherwise holds no user data. It would also put every kind of message into one queue, where a security report and a question about a button look identical. Separate addresses keep the difference visible and leave the record of what you sent in your hands.

Can you tell me what I answered on a card?

No. Your choice joins an anonymous aggregate and is not stored against you, so there is no record to retrieve. This is not a policy we could make an exception to on request — the link genuinely does not exist in the system.

Can you tell me how someone else answered?

No, and this includes a partner in a pair reading, a member of your circle, and a student in a session your institution paid for. Group readings show a collective shape rather than individual answers, and nothing behind them can be unpicked.

I am a journalist and need a figure by tomorrow. Can you share an unpublished one?

No. A figure that has not crossed its response threshold and passed human review does not leave, regardless of the deadline attached to the request. What has been sealed appears on the public readings page, and we are glad to talk through method at any time.

Who is the Grievance Officer and what do they handle?

A named individual, published on this page and on the grievance page, responsible for complaints about data handling and about breaches of our stated obligations. Indian law requires this role to be a person rather than a shared inbox, and requires the details to be public.

How do I delete my data?

Through the app rather than by writing to us. The data deletion page sets out what can be removed — your account and the verification attached to it — and what cannot, which is answers already absorbed into an anonymous aggregate where they are no longer connected to you.

Read the site before you write.

Most questions have an answer already published, and it will be more complete than a reply.
